SHATTERED GLASS

One of the questions my readers asked me frequently was what happened to Master Magician Zitora’s sister. Did Zitora ever find her? I decided I needed to find out and I started the story with Opal receiving a message from the Master Magician asking her for help. The adventure turned into another novella and, while you learned what happened to Zitora and her sister, the ending was a bit of a cliffhanger. Sorry, I’d hoped readers would jump right into Dawn Study, which was soon to be released, to find out what happened.

This is my only short story that is available for sale on its own. I decided to independently publish it as an experiment to see what was involved in creating files, uploading them to the various eBook sellers, and hiring a cover artist. Joy Kenney had created covers for my other short stories for fun, so I contacted her, and we’ve been working together ever since!

The title is a reflection of how a person’s world can shatter so quickly. At the time I was writing this story, my daughter’s friend Araella was diagnosed with a very aggressive type of breast cancer. She was eighteen years old. Not only was her world shattered, but the worlds of her family and friends. A portion of the sales of this story were donated to help pay for some of Araella’s chemotherapy. Despite valiant medical efforts, she died in 2019.
